Cannabis And THC

Cannabis is one of the most sought-after drugs in the world, ranging from place like the Netherlands, to even countries like South-Africa. It has multiple uses for different types of reasons, may it be medicinal or for recreational purposes.

To be able to feel the effects of the plant, one must ingest the THC also known as the tetrahydrocannabinol which is one of the many cannabinoids found in Cannabis. THC is the particle of the plant that causes one to feel “high”.

Cannabis can be ingested by smoking it -which is the most potent form-, cooking it or baking it, to putting it into oil as to ingest with teas.

It is alleged that Cannabis originated from India, it has also been around for a tremendous amount of time. Old documents have shown it to being actively used from the 28th century, as documented by the Chinese. Cannabis was also speculated to have been used by the Egyptians.

THC is the particles that has the best effects, of all the cannabinoids as it reduces pain, fatigue, improves moods and even aids in sleeping. It is also the particles that may cause hunger as well as the high.

Doctor Ethan Russo, who is a neurologist, Medical Director and researcher of psychopharmacology, among other titles, said that although Sativa and Indica are the two main species of Cannabis and are perceived to be opposites. These plant’s psychoactive effects can not be under any circumstances depicted from their outwards, such as their height or even their leaves sizes. Thus, the psychoactive compartments are in the genetics of the plants and not the physical attributes.

The opposite of Sativa would have

Sativa is a type of cannabis that has high levels of THC. It is mostly found in Colombo area of Sri Lanka and Europe.

Sativa also known as “hemp” is recommended for day usage, as it improves moods, causes spikes in energy and even promotes higher creativity. It looks different than its counterpart Indica, as Sativa has thinner leaves and seems to be longer as if growing to be tall, easily reaching heights of twenty feet. This plant is more perceptive to warmer climate and longer seasons like summer. The flowers that grow on the Sativa also seem to bloom longer than those of Indica. It takes longer to vegetate as well as it takes roughly ten to twelve weeks to grow into maturity. With the patience of it taking longer to grow, comes the reward of it producing up to one pound of usable Cannabis per plant.

The opposite of Sativa would have to be Indica, as it causes sleepiness as opposed to the energy spikes Sativa causes. Indica is believed to be founded in India or recently it has come to the attention of researches to have possibly originated from Afghanistan. It would be better known for the physical effects it has on the body. These may be put together as the “stoned” part of smoking Cannabis, as it causes red eyes, cottonmouth, and sensory stimulation.

Cannabis And THC

Indica would be suitable for when one wants to simply relax, or as a light sedative as it causes sleepiness. Its plant is broader and does not grow much in stature, like Sativa, but rather the leaves are bulkier. This ultimately causes the plant to be bushier and wilder. It does not have a long flowering period, also the ideal climate for this plant would be in the cold. The leaves are darker, the heavy shade of green can also at times give the illusion of it being dark blue or even black. Flowers of these plants are also heavier, as they are solider than Sativa.

The THC levels in Indica is also lower than those in Sativa, yet both these plants have the highest levels of THC, rather than CBD. There is great news though, there are hybrid plants of Sativa and Indica which prominently brings out the best qualities of both plants. A hybrid can have different blends.

If the Cannabis has higher levels of THC than CBD, it may cause elevated anxiety, as well as paranoia. Although, elevated levels of THC is usually preferred when treating mental illnesses like depression, insomnia, and even pain. The effect of the THC also depends on the person and not just the Cannabis, as it has a different effect on each person.

For beginners, or people seeking mild treatment for sickness, and to feel euphoric, a balance of CBD and THC would be ideal.
