Did you know what Cannabis is? It is a genus or a subdivision of budding plants in the family of Cannabaceae. This family of plants holds many subdivisions and species so, it is quite often disputed for its classifications. Mostly used as a drug, the cannabis genus is a psychoactive drug and is often termed as “marijuana” as its other identity name. Being a drug, cannabis can be used both in pharmaceutical industries and as a soporific addiction by some people.

Cannabis is known to have a diverse effect on a person’s emotional state and their physical and mental health. Some countries, owing to its diverse effects, have completely banned this drug. Whereas, others still have issued a legalization warrant for this drug for medicinal, pharmaceutical as well as personal needs. These countries require the users of this drug to hold a valid authorization letter or a license from their respective health organizations. Similar delegations have been put forth by Canadian Health organizations.

Despite the initiatives undertaken, the legalization

Although the cannabis was not legalized officially in Canada until the year 2018, better still, there were cases in which criminal charges were enforced on criminals in previous years. Drugs had been restricted for use in Canada ever since the opium act, which was observed in 1908. Whereas, Cannabis itself was found in the list of confidential restriction in the year 1923 under the Narcotics Drug Act Amendment Bill. The tread to the legalization of Cannabis initiative for personnel (non-medical) use was initiated in the year 2015 when the Government of Canada took to the initiative.

Despite the initiatives undertaken, the legalization verdict had not passed even in the year 2017. Later, in the year 2018, the verdict was passed and the drug became legalized publicly. After its legalization, the provinces only had the attorney of the drug’s dissemination and vending. The age for the use of Cannabis was also determined with charges against violation of rules and criminal acts.

Here a question arises as to why were they ever legalized back? Due to the increased use of marijuana for divertissement in the Western hemisphere and extensive criminal acts affiliated with it, initially the Narcotics control companies enhanced the penalty durations. Because of this, the authorities started to look in detail for the use of Cannabis for non-medical purposes. Besides, the increased usage of cannabis led the way to its legalization.

Cannabis is still used legally by many people both for pharmaceutical and narc use. In medicine, this drug has found vast treatments for curing severe and muscle spasms. It also helps is pains affiliated with spinal cord injury. Apart from these, it also helps in epilepsy seizures, severe pains arising from arthritis and/or nausea occurring from HIV/AIDS infection or cancer. To sum up, where the drug holds positive aspects, there are also negative aspects present, which explicitly include health and mental disorders. Therefore, either this drug should be completely avoided unless the necessity outstands the aspirations or it should be taken in a very limited quantity to avoid health imbalance.
