Medical marijuana was made legal in some countries such as the United States despite the presence laws dictating its usage. This main reason for making medical cannabis legal was to use it in the medical fields although some individuals used it for other purposes including recreational purposes. Cannabis sativa plant contains chemicals used in the medicine field for treatment purposes. The plant contains more than 100 different chemicals each having a different medicinal value in the human body. However, the most commonly used substances in the cannabis sativa plant are THC and cannabidiol. Besides treatment, the THC chemical is known to bring the highness feeling people experience once they intake cannabis.

According to studies carried out, this weed can help to treat different conditions such as epilepsy, cancer alzheimer's disease and seizures. Wasting syndrome and infections affecting the immune system like HIV/AIDS can be also assisted by these chemicals. Although some diseases mentioned above have not been able to be cured by this drug, Cannabis is known for its high capability of relieving chronic pain, curbing vomiting and reducing nauseated feelings due to the presence of chemotherapy in the plant.

A condition known as Seizure disorder

Just like body chemicals, cannabinoids assists the body in swift movements, reduction of pain, memory recovery and appetite gaining. Researches have noted that, the chemical aids in reducing anxiety, destroying cancerous cells and slowing tumor growth rates.

A condition known as Seizure disorder which mostly affects children can be controlled by the usage of a special drug from the cannabis plant. That can lead to a dramatic drop of seizure after the medication is prescribed to infants and adherence is ensured. Due to successful treatments of seizures by use of medical marijuana, cannabidiol was approved to be used in the medic sector by FDA. This was triggered by the presence of rare type of epilepsy and cases of dravet syndrome. In addition, cesamet and marinol syndros were approved to assist as a remedy during vomiting and nauseated situations since they contain chemotherapy.

How Medical Marijuana Works

Intake of this drug varies from one person to the other depending on their choice and preference. It can be smoked, inhaled using vaporizer which turns it a mist, applied on the skin, eating or placing few drops under the tongue. Once smoked or vaporized, its impacts are felt so quickly in the body unlike when eaten which take much longer period of time to function in the body. Approximately, duration of between one and two hours can elapse before you experience the effects of the edible product.

Several side effects can be experienced with the consumption of the medicine such as dizziness, depression and hallucinations. Other side effects include fast heartbeat, low blood pressure and bloodshot eyes. It can affect judgment of situations and interferes with coordination and that can lead to accidents leading injuries or fatalities. If this weed is used at the youthful stages of growth, it interferes with the functioning of the mind and can cause severe impacts to the intelligent quotient because the teenager brain is under development during this age.
