Is Worldwide Legalization of Marijuana possible?

Legalization of marijuana for medical use has not been agreed upon by most governments in the world. Its recreational use on the other hand, remains a 'no' in most of the countries in the world. The direction is not compulsory all over the world because some countries chose to permit medical and recreational use of marijuana legally. This is the case for South Africa, Uruguay, Georgia and recently, Canada.

Thailand will let it's citizens cultivate marijuana and their government will purchase it. According to the minister of health of Thailand, marijuana will be produced in the farms to improve the living standards of the people just like rice. Researchers in Maejo University North Thailand have planted twelve thousand marijuana seedlings. The full legalization of marijuana is most likely to boost the economy of the nation, more than rice, sugarcane and, rubber.

Every eye has been focused on

Mexico is among the countries most likely to make marijuana use legal next as the Supreme Court last year declared that its effects do not justify its absolute prohibition. Colombia, Peru, Argentina, and Venezuela allow the medical use of marijuana. According to the steps these countries are taking, predictions are that they will make legal its recreational use by 2025. Venezuela is, however, likely to take the step later in 2029 due to its government opposition. In New Zealand, majority of the people under forty-five years support the legalization of marijuana, while 74% of the population in Australia also supports its legalization.

Every eye has been focused on Canada after marijuana legal, which has not been showing much difference. A recent poll found that 62% of the Americans are supporting marijuana to be made legal. Luxembourg has recently declared that it is likely to make marijuana use legal in 2022 or 2023. As it has been happening in most world countries, the announcement did not meet any public opposition. On the other hand, Holland started a four-year experiment where the supply of marijuana is done to coffee shops recently. Switzerland began a ten-year research in which five thousand people studied to help them decide whether to or not to legalize marijuana.

In less than ten years to come, it has been predicted by researchers that all the countries in the world are likely to have made the use of marijuana legal. This includes for both recreational and medical use. Every country in the world has most of its citizens supporting marijuana to be made legal. Among the most important reasons as to why marijuana should be legal include; the fact that no one has ever been reported dead of a marijuana overdose. Since marijuana was discovered, no one has ever been reported dead from its use, while, on the other had, many people have died from other drugs overdose including the prescribed drugs.

Around 40% of Americans have admitted that they use marijuana, which is, apparently, less likely to cause an addiction compared to even coffee. Moreover, marijuana use is much safer than already legal drugs such as alcohol and tobacco. The use of marijuana proves to be a much better and safer means to celebrate other than drink alcohol.

Worldwide Legalization of Marijuana

Moreover, people tend to abuse drugs due to their addition this might not happen with marijuana because it is not as addicting as other legal drugs. Marijuana can also be used to help you with your sleeping problems. It has also been used to cure nausea, which is what many cancer patients need. This drug also helps in appetite gain for people who have problem eating food.

In addition to all the benefits caused by marijuana use, its use also helps in relaxing if you have muscle tension, spasms, and chronic pain. Some successful and famous people in the world such as Morgan Freeman, Martha Stewart, Maya Angelou, and Ted Turner are all using marijuana. Compared to other drugs that are used in the world and made using chemicals, marijuana is a plant that grows like any other hence people usually compare it to coffee and tea. Therefore, the legalization of marijuana would make many people happy.

In conclusion, whether marijuana should or should not be used as medicine has not been agreed upon by most of the countries. Its use for fun remains a 'no' in most of the countries all over the world. South Africa, Uruguay, Georgia, and the most recently Canada, chose to allow using of marijuana in hospitals and fun purposes legal.

Thailand will allow its citizens to cultivate marijuana and sell it to its government soon. In comparison to other drugs which are made using chemicals, marijuana is a plant that makes people compare it to coffee and tea. Marijuana also has various advantages mostly to cancer patients, and various famous and successful people all over the world are using marijuana.
