Most people smoke it in hand rolled cigars termed joints; the popular ways of smoking it includes using pipes, bongs and bowls. A precise origin of cannabis is completely unknown and not understood. An individual species placed into genera, then into families then further into other categories until there is nowhere to group them. Over recent years, research resulted in the development and marketing of the synthetic THC and Marinol. Marinol controls nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapeutic agents used in the treatment of cancer and an appetite stimulus in AIDS patients. Cannabis comes in other forms like hash oil and hemp fibers. Hash is the most potent and concentrated form of cannabis containing high levels of THC. Its derivative comes from the dried resin of the plants flowering tops and compressed into various forms. North Africa, the Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan are the main sources of hash.

Similar to marijuana, portions of hash are grinded, kept in pipes, and smoked. Nobody knows how long human beings have used cannabis sativa; possibly, it is the oldest crop ever cultivated. The first pair of leaves of the cannabis plant is usually a single leaflet. This number increases progressively up to a maximum number of thirteen leaflets per leaf, depending on the climatic conditions. At the top of a flowering plant, the number declines again to one leaflet per leaf. The lower pairs of leaves usually show in a contrary leaf arrangement and the higher pairs in an alternate association on the primary stem of a mature plant.

All the appeared breeds of hashish are wind pollinated producing achinesses; most traces of the hashish plant are quick day vegetation apart from Cannabis sativa and Cannabis ruderalis typically described as auto-flowering and may be day-neutral. The cannabis plant is predominantly dioecious having imperfect vegetation life with a staminate male and a pistillate female vegetation happening in separate flowers. Due to radical selection in cultivation, cannabis displays many sexual phenotypes expressed in terms of the ratio of female to male flowers occurring in the individual. Dioecious variations are preferred for drug production and textile fiber production.

The cannabis plant has been cultivated and used for a minimum of 12000 years. However, recent evidence suggests it had been first used a minimum of 30000 years ago. It enjoyed an almost uninterrupted run throughout history as practically every society accepted the advantages of the plant for medicinal and recreational purposes. Sadly, within the supposed enlightened era, cannabis has suddenly become the devil after millennia of safe use. Meanwhile, governments round the world stand idly and permit pharmaceutical companies to fill our bodies with poison. It seems as if profit is that the main hurdle and, until powerful entities find how to form money from weed, legalization it will remain illegal in many places.
